The Capture of Dungeon Baal - Part One (迷宮（ダンジョン）バアル攻略篇・前篇, Danjon Baaru Kōryaku-hen - Zenpen) is the 1st Night of Adventure of Sinbad OVA series.

Summary

Upon meeting a mysterious stranger named Yunan, Sinbad takes his first step into his first Dungeon instead of complying with Dragul's military draft who is claiming the power of the Dungeon for Parthevia and Princess Seren.

Synopsis

Badr holds Esra's hand while she screams in labor. During the birth of Sinbad, parts of the world is bathed in storms and people of the Kouga Clan enjoy a night of falling stars. Yunan remarks how a child of miracles is born which is a rare phenomenon, once every thousand years. Yunan prophecies that Sinbad will be king of the seas. Years later, the Parthevia army marches into the first tower. The tower is fought over between the Parthevia and Reim Empire.

In Contastia Harbor, Sinbad defend a small caravan from bandits. The two women and elderly man remark how men who flee the military become bandits. To reward Sinbad, one of the women open a barrel of fruit, only to find a strange man, Yunan, hiding there. Later, Yunan accompanies Sinbad who returns to Tison Village where Sinbad offers a share of his fruit with his fellow villagers. Sinbad greets his sickly mother. That night, Dragul's men are on their way to Tison Village to draft men into the Parthevian army.

The next day, Esra shares fond stories of Sinbad with Yunan while requesting Yunan to help Sinbad. Trouble strikes in the village. Dragul forces Sinbad to join the army and explains citizens are important resources for the country. Sinbad argues that they are not tools for their war. Dragul threatens Sinbad by mentioning Sinbad's mother will not be spared and informs him that the majesty has ordered their army to secure the power of the dungeon.

As the day ends, Yunan inspires Sinbad to become king to change this country and this world. After Yunan's departure, Sinbad is hesitant in informing his mother about his next task. His receptive mother takes the initiative.

At the royal castle, Dragul promises to Serendine that he will deliver results. The next day at the entrance of the dungeon, a soldier informs Dragul that Sinbad is missing. Sinbad declares his debut and makes his way towards the dungeon where Yunan awaits him at the entrance. In a flashback, Esra presents her husband's sword and convinces him to do what he was destined to do. Chasing after Sinbad, Dragul sends his soldiers into the dungeon.

Inside Baal's Dungeon, Sinbad gazes upon the mysterious beauty of the world inside.
